LOGO
(SEAL)
The logo of the PAX CHRISTI INSTITUTE is a
stylized illustration by the Negrense artist
Rodesa Jayawon of the sculpture ‘Let
Us Beat Swords into Plowshares’ by the
Russian artist Evgeniy Vuchetich (1957).
The
sculpture is placed in the United Nations
garden in New York. The plowshare symbolizes
creative tools that benefit mankind, as opposed
to destructive tools of war, symbolized by
the sword, a similar sharp metal tool with
an arguably opposite use.
Its
biblical origins: They will beat their swords
into plowshares and their spears into pruning
hooks. Nation will not take up sword against
nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

2:4 & Micah 4:3
